Period 1 : REVIEW AND INSTRUCTION
I. AIMS & OBJECTIVES:
+ Language content:
To help the students consolidate some knowledge that they have already learned in grade 8 , and help the students remember and practice the previous knowledge better.
+ Language function:
To help the students know to use the knowledge better in their communication
+ Educational aims:
To make them aware of the importance of the knowledge they have learned.

I WARM-UP:
* Lets students play the game “ Pelmanism”
-Prepares 8 cards with numbers on one side and the verbs on the other.
-Makes sure the structures are mixed up. Stick the cards on the board so Ss can only see the members.
-Divides Ss into 2 teams and asks them to choose 2 numbers.
- Turns the cards over, if they match:
Ex: (S + V + O) – S+Be(am,is,are)+PP(by+O); that team gets one mark
- If not, turn the cards over again and asks the next team
-Continues until all the cards are finished.
II. CONTROLLED -PRACTICE:
1. REVIEW
- Reminds the theory to the students :
1/ The passive voice
a/ Of the present simple:

S + Be(am,is,are) + PP (by +O)


Ex: Lan cleans the floor everyday.
=> The floor is cleaned by Lan everyday.
b/ Of the past simple :
S + Be( was, were) + PP(by+O)

Ex: He did his homework lastnight .
=> His homework was done (by him) lastnight.
c/ Of the present perfect:
S + have/ has + been + PP(by+O)

Ex: They have already made a new table.
=> A new table has already been made
d/ Of the modal verbs :

S + modalverb + be + PP ( by+O)

 Ex:We should plant some trees in the garden.
=> Some trees should be planted in the garden.
2. the verb: used to
a/ Express the habbits in the past:

S + USED TO + Inf.

Ex: My father used to take me to the circus when we lived in the city.
b/ Express the habbits at the present

S + Be/ Get + USED TO + Inf.

Ex: My father is used to playing soccer in the afternoon.

2. INSTRUCTION
- There are 10 units in the 9th English textbook, and each unit is divided into 5 or 6 lessons: Getting started + Listen and read, Speak , Listen ( Speak and Listen),Read, Write, Language focus.

III. CONSOLIDATION:
- Reminds the use and the practice of the knowledge to the students
